Since 1994, the Pine Bluff Landfill has served the disposal needs of residential, municipal, and commercial customers in the Atlanta Metro area and surrounding counties.
The Pine Bluff Landfill, which is owned and operated by Waste Management of Metro Atlanta, Inc., is located in unincorporated Ball Ground, Georgia and rests on over 1,000 acres of privately owned property.
Only about 1/10th of the property is used for the disposal of municipal solid waste, which includes nonhazardous household, commercial and industrial waste, as well as construction and demolition debris. The remaining acreage includes wildlife habitat and natural buffer around the perimeter of the facility, including a 30 acre tract of land that Pine Bluff landfill donated to Cherokee County for the development of Dwight Terry Park, a citizens recreational area.
